Building connections through respect

Our Core Values

Sexual content, grooming or exploitation involving a minor is covered separately by our Child Safety Policy.

âś“ Do:

  • • Accept when someone doesn't want to discuss a topic
  • • Respect if someone wants to end the conversation
  • • Ask before sharing sensitive or personal stories
  • • Give people space to respond at their own pace

âś— Don't:

  • • Pressure someone to continue uncomfortable topics
  • • Persist after someone has set a boundary
  • • Try to find ways to contact someone outside the app
  • • Share someone else's personal information

Enforcement and Appeals

The Rest of the Rules

These guidelines cover how to behave in a conversation. Four other pages cover the rest: child safety, reporting, privacy, and the terms you agree to.

Our zero-tolerance policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation, how reports are handled, and where to report.
How to report someone in a One New Friend conversation: the in-app report button, block and leave, or the safety team's address, and what happens next.
What One New Friend stores, what it never stores, and what happens to a message after the 24 hours are up.
